"Before, I dreaded hearing the words 'professional development.' Here, PD is different; here, PD is meaningful."
~ Teacher
"The professional development is truly transformative. Unlike traditional professional development, it goes beyond skill-building to nurture the 'whole educator'—valuing us not just as professionals but as individuals."
~ Curriculum Writer
"When I am given the tools I actually need to grow, rather than to check off a certain number of hours, I am empowered to be my best self - and who that is gets better each day."

While we can't offer financial advice, some of microschools have chosen to fund professional development in several ways, including...
Create a Professional Development Budget: Growing schools typically set aside 3-5% of tuition revenue for professional development. For example, with 15 students at $8,000 annual tuition, just 2% creates a $2,400 professional development fund.
Add a Learning & Development Fee: Many schools add a modest $150 Learning & Development fee to their annual enrollment fee.
Join Forces with Other Schools: Our consortium model allows multiple schools to share one account with multiple logins and divide the investment. Accounts would still be limited to one login per person. Contact us at contact@micro to learn more about multi-school pricing options.
Host a Specific Fundraiser: Run a targeted fundraising campaign. Parents often respond positively to fundraisers specifically for teacher training.
Generate Revenue from Special Programs: Schools often fund professional development through revenue from afterschool programs, summer camps, or weekend workshops.
Apply for Private Grants: Many private foundations offer grants specifically for innovative education models and/or professional development. Upon request, we can provide a curated list of foundations that have supported microschools in the past.
Explore Government Funding: Depending on your location and school model, you may be eligible for state-level grants, professional development allocations, charter school program grants, or local education initiative funding.
